I enjoyed the discussion a lot and was inspired to start thinking of those questions from different point of views. For those open questions, we were encouraged to talk about our own opinions. We went around the room and each of us answered a question in turn followed by Sara's comments. It so glad to find out that I knew most of the questions even the anatomy and Sanskrit ones.Īfter a short break, we discussed and corrected the answers together. I was glad I took that strategy because when Sara said let us take a break and then check the answers, I was wrapping up the last few one. There were quite a few pages of questions to answer, so I quickly went over the list and tried to handle the easier ones first. It has been a while since my last written exam in class, so it was quite an interesting experience reminding myself of the school time. I did my best to go over all my lecture notes including the skeleton chart, Sanskrit words list, and went over sequence cues several times to get myself prepared as much as possible. Today was the big day - the written exam night! I had been nervous about it because I was not completely confident about my anatomy knowledge and Sanskrit vocabulary. ![]() The teacher training was over, but I knew my yoga journey just started. The picture I took with James was named the best picture of that night - I stood on top of twenty yoga blocks and shoulder to shoulder with our tallest student in the class. Each of us did our most proud yoga pose in front of the camera. ![]() W e took tons of pictures - all together, each individual, double, triple, you name it. The studio hung a big orange color sign on the mirror with CPY logo - of course we need it as our graduation picture background! I wore the new yoga T-shirt I bought a few days back for this special night, and was so happy to get quite a few complements. Jessica was unable to come because she was busy with her relocation to Denmark which was a dream place I had always wanted to be.Īnother big part of the celebration was taking photos. I was so proud and happy for her, although I felt sorry to no longer able to practice yoga teaching in the community we both live in. Emma announced she was moving to DC for her graduate study. We chatted a lot, about our feedback to the classes as well as any interesting things in our life. We had a wonderful port luck and a good celebration! We sat in a circle and enjoyed the delicious food and drink. After class when I asked she told me she added two drops of lavender and lemon oil to the towel, which was very helpful for stress relief and relaxation. When I opened my eyes, I saw Maureen walked around the room and fanned students with a towel. During Savasana, I was resting with my eyes closed, and suddenly I felt a breeze swept above my head with a scent of lavender which made me so calming and relaxing. In fact I could always learn wonderful new poses in her class. No wonder I found we did a lot of new poses today. ![]() She mentioned she had a trip back to San Diego where she used to live, there she visited her mentor and friends and learned a lot more sequences. You could feel she cued with easy and grace, and full of confidence, which inspired you to follow her lead and flow with passion. ![]() I especially loved her way of instruction. I still felt her class was the most challenging one for me, of course in a very enjoyable way. She usually cued a lot transition flows, from down dog to high plank, and back and forth, from single leg open to warrior III to toppling tree, and back and forth, etc. I could feel the similar alignment and same intention in spite of those small variations. A lot of her poses were similar to those taught in CPY classes, such as mountain pose with hands by your side but not reaching up, swan dive pose similar to forward fold but with hands swing from two sides, wide leg forward fold but with forearms touching the floor or reaching far along the floor. Her pace was a little slower than CPY classes, but the advance level was similar to C2. Mandy's class had a little different style from that of CPY classes. Most of the students taking the class were regular too. I was a regular to her class so she knew me well. Mandy was an amazing teacher and I could say she was the one who inspired me to start my yoga journey! She was a dancer before and I could tell she was a very good one from how graceful and beautiful her demonstration was.
